Another day has almost finished , I got to thinking recently about the focus of my blogging. Most posts are tagged as “thoughts and feelings” when the title is Decisions. So soon, I will launch yet another blog, Thoughts. This new blog is for all my thoughts and feelings, whereas decisions will remain my commenting about my and others decisions affecting my life, world and everything surrounding.

Memoirs
I have also started to write down some of my memories of myself and family, especially those that have passed away. My Memoirs will be the site these will be published on (when ready for publishing).

I have another dozen or so great Blogging names that will eventually be made into a blogging network. I will even be opening up to selected authors the sites for them to feature their own content.

Firstly an apology to my regular readers for the lack of recent postings. I have been busy wth my minisite empire and a shift to a new location in the country.

The fields of Sunflowers at my new location are a change from the bugs of moreton bay. We picked the wettest period in a hundred years to move and had to do it in stages between downpours. On the last day, I fell over the lawn mower and severely injured myself. Bruising thankfully was all I sustained narrowly missing breaking my clavicle and sternum.

The Southern Moreton Bay Islands or SMBI is now behind us, Hurray. We don’t know what we were thinking when we moved there last year. Populated with Several Million Biting Insects and Small Minded Bloody Idiots. SMBI is a much used acronym on the islands, now I will be using a few of my own.

As a auDA reseller and also an auDA Supply class member, I often find the attitudes towards auDA and their rules on Australian domain names by Australian Domainers strange. auDA makes the rules, auDA enforces the rules. Often the domainers choose to ignore the rules and then complain bitterly. Don’t like the rules guys, well join auDA and help to change them. Stop whinging! Related to this DOMAINER.net.au will be mutated into a news and information site about domaining with special focus on auDA . General domaining will also be featured, including monetisation and utilisation of names.

Traffic is what domaining is all about. The more traffic the better. recently a couple minisites were done that was a “proof of concept” for a client. He seems to have missed the point about minisites and traffic as he expected instant millions of visitors. He is getting minimal traffic to his sites but expected the minute I finished his sites that $100s of income would come his way. Sorry, you know who you are, it does not work that way. The MAIN real reason people should place a minisite on their Aussie names is to protect them against auDA invoking their rules against non-usage.

So the Traveston DAM on the Mary RIVER in Queensland will not now go-ahead. Peter Garrett, the Australian Federal Minister for burning beds and Funny Dances has over-ruled Queensland Premier Anna Bligh. I love LABOR politicians when they squabble.

I have finally decided to engage in further studies. I enrolled in Bachelor of General studies offered by Griffith University and OUA. The Open University Australia (OUA) is a collection of traditional universities that work together to provide an online facility offering great degree level courses. The 2 initial subjects I have enrolled in are PAC11 (Globalisation in Asia Pacific) and Modern Mandarin 1A.
I got all my Study Period 1 (Semester) Modern Mandarin materials yesterday . There is a lot of learning, but it is nothing I can not handle. When I feel confident enogh with the language I may start a few Chinese language posts.

Another new month is here. There was several major decisions reached and acted upon in October.

I was first licensed as an Amateur Radio Operator in 1982. Back in 2003 due to various reasons, mainly personal, I let my license lapse. On October 12th, I was granted a new Advanced Class Australian Callsign: VK4ARJ. Further details on my new Hamblog Vk4arj.com.

BareFootTech has traded for a little over 5 years as a Sole Trader. It has now come time to separate Barefoottech business from my personal sites and activities. So from Mid-November, Barefoottech sites will be transitioned to a new Company structure and ownership. Full Details will listed in a separate Blog posting when completed.

I had the the pleasure to stay a couple nights at a lovely little caravan park on the NSW Tweed Coast. Wooyung Motel and Caravan park is an Old Style caravan park with lot’s of great features, but not high prices. Only a short distance from the Ocean and MILES of clean uncrowded beaches. It is ideal for a quiet family time. Highly recommended by myself and the family.

I have decided to merge 2 of my blogs Dogablog.com.au is now Merged with this blog. This decision maybe reversed at some stage but at present I don’t have the time or inclination to do both blogs. The only blogs I will be updating on a regular basis will be this one and blog.barefoottech.com.au. The best blog by far for traffic has been Decisions.

I recently read about a decision by the FTC that amateur bloggers need to declare all payments and gifts recieved for blog postings. I have on occasions done some paid blogging for a few dollars. This has never been profitable (So far) , the hosting costs far exceed any income.

However if ANY COMPANIES wish to send me any laptops, MP3 players, Flat-screen TV’s , I am more than willing to start accepting payola on occasions for an honest review. A nice Acer Laptop or 42in LCD TV would be good.

The main trouble with American politics is not the politicians. It is the AMERICAN PEOPLE, they continue to elect Wealthy IDIOTS, Ex-Actors and Supposed Football heroes instead of people with ability.

American People are also to blame for your abysmal education system, Egocentric attitudes that AMERICA is always the Biggest, Best, Brashest doesn’t help. It is time to realise that USA needs to actually be taught some home truths.

Newsflash
Not all Americans have a GOOD education.
Not all Americans have a GOOD job.
Not all Americans have good health care.
Not all Americans get a FAIR deal from idiotic governments.
America has a MASSIVE National DEBT. It is far from being the wealthiest country.
America does not need to meddle in international politics, when it has no effective internal political structure.
BUT the Biggest Home TRUTH.
AMERICA is not the BOSS of the WORLD.
USA is NOT the only country in the world.

In 1776 Americans rose up in revolution to fight the oppressive political system and control of the IDIOTS (British Monarchy) in control at that time.

Now the only thing Americans do is whinge on the internet via blogs, forums and chatrooms or listen to idiot TV/RADIO shows like Larry King. Instead join a politic party or interest group. Be proactive not complacent. Remember the famous Abraham Lincoln speech at Gettysburg does not mention POLITICIANS
Quote:

and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth

INTERNATIONAL REMOVALS
In my last post I gave several reasons why immigration to Australia had advantages for online commerce site owners being hassled by various authorities for their activities. since then I have had some of my overseas friends contacting me and saying that they are seriously considering the option. I decided to investigate for them the procedures needed to facilitate the shift.

Issues like passports, visas, work permits, housing are easily handled by most people via official Government sites, the only issue that isn’t is the international removals process. The hassles start with decisions about what belongings should be left behind, sold off, or given away. After deciding the amount of belongings being taken to your new home in a different country, then comes the hassles associated with international removals. International removals involves more than just a couple dozen cardboard boxes, bubble wrap and some duct tape. There often is a need for a shipping container or several wooden crates for the big items like furniture and white goods. Then there is also the problem ensuring adequate padding and coverings for the various items. Another problem is sealing against vermin during the journey. Custom declarations and insurance valuations for some items often require several days to arrange.

The usage of companies specialising in international removals in a professional manner will make all these and any other problems disappear. The ease of shifting using these companies makes what would be a total hassle into a pleasant business transaction. Hopefully the information provided by me to my overseas friends will see several making the big jump to becoming an Australian resident. In the past International removals ensured enough hassles that would have seen me not recommending it to anyone. Now with the use of professional international removals companies, I would recommend it to anyone thinking of shifting from one country to another.

I mentioned previously about shifting some of my sites from my previous Canadian Host. Due to delays and difficulties I have deferred that decision until next month. In the meantime I been investigating a replacement hosting for my little sites and subdomains. Looking through the vast array of available hosting companies I chose a company that is promoting a July only promotion. I thought great ,get a years worth of hosting for a reasonable price. After several hassles regarding the payment using Paypal eCheque (it was not a PayPal problem) and a couple phone calls to UK (Their promoted Aussie Support is NON-Existent) I now have the hosting up and running.

It just reinforced my previous concerns about eCommerce sites, especially hosting companies and their usage of paypal. I get totally frustrated by supposed Hi-tech sites that don’t offer paypal or have only limited usage. Come on guys, Lift your game. Web-Users love paypal. We don’t want a online site that only expects Credit Cards. Or that un-named site I visited recently that only offers Direct Deposits for payments. That site sells (probably not many) pre-made eCommerce sites that feature Paypal payments, but they don’t accept Paypal.
